This makes it a lot easier to administrate permissions and accesses.<\/p>\n<p>Use cases vary a lot, but here are some examples of how customers typically group their users:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Departments<\/li>\n<li>Regions\/countries<\/li>\n<li>Stores vs. office<\/li>\n<li>External vs. internal access<\/li>\n<li>Press<\/li>\n<li>Dealers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>User groups are an effective way to manage multiple users simultaneously. In the following sections, we will outline the basics of user group management in Kontainer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Create User groups<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <strong>Access &gt; Groups<\/strong> and hit \u2018new group\u2019 in the upper right corner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/User-groups-image-1.png\" alt=\"user groups image 1\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pick a name for your group and leave a note summarizing what members of this group have permission to do.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, you can manage the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set group as active\/inactive<\/li>\n<li>Allow users to share content with direct links<\/li>\n<li>Display <a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/article\/add-a-brand-section\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>brand section<\/u><\/strong><\/a> for users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/User-groups-image-2.png\" alt=\"user groups image 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hit <em>create<\/em>\u00a0to confirm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Set permissions for groups<\/h2>\n<p>You will be directed straight to the group settings, starting with the folder access settings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/User-groups-image-3.png\" alt=\"user groups image 3\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These are the permission settings you can manage for groups that its members inherit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Folder access<\/li>\n<li>Visibility of custom fields<\/li>\n<li>Visibility of download options<\/li>\n<li>Delegated admin settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read a lot more about the different permissions in our user guide <a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/de\/article\/berechtigungen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>here<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Add users to a group<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <strong>Access &gt; Groups<\/strong> and click on the group to which you want to add users.<\/p>\n<p>Then, click on \u2018add users\u2019 in the upper right corner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/User-groups-image-4.png\" alt=\"user groups image 4\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the users that you want to be added to the group at hand and hit <em>add to group<\/em>\u00a0to confirm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/User-groups-image-5.png\" alt=\"user groups image 5\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can see which folder access settings have been inherited from a group membership on the individual user settings.
