And confirm by clicking <em>create<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"foldertypes\">Folder types<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on your Kontainer plan, you can create the following folder types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Normal folders<\/li>\n<li>Album folders<\/li>\n<li>Smart folders<\/li>\n<li>Mirror folders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-2.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Normal folders<\/h3>\n<p>Normal Folders are the only folder type containing original files.<\/p>\n<p>This means it\u2019s the folder type that users upload files to.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Album folders<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bfa27b;\"><strong>Pro+ feature<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Album folders contain redirects or aliases of existing original files in your Kontainer. So, without creating duplicates, you can display the same files in multiple folders.<\/p>\n<p>This is ideal for sharing files with different target groups without having the same file clutter and filling up unnecessary space in your Kontainer.<\/p>\n<p>Read more about Album folders <a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/de\/article\/album-ordner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>here<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Smart folders<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bfa27b;\"><strong>Premium+ feature<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Create automated workflows that move your data based on specified criteria.<\/p>\n<p>A typical example of this is approval workflows or licenses and expiry dates. So, if a license or consent agreement has expired, the file is automatically moved to a folder \u2013 i.e., \u201cexpired\u201d or \u201cexpires in 6 months\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Another example could be that if newly uploaded files are tagged with a particular value (such as campaign, product category, etc.), they will automatically be moved or linked to in a respective smart folder.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Note, only admin users can create smart folder.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Mirror folders<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bfa27b;\"><strong>Pro+ feature<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mirror folders create a 1:1 alias of the same folder \u2013 without creating duplicate assets.<\/p>\n<p>They will automatically update if files are uploaded or deleted from the original folder.<\/p>\n<p>However, you can still design these mirror folders differently than the original folders. In that way, you can use the <u><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/de\/article\/kontainer-stylen\/#chapter16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">page editor<\/a><\/strong><\/u> to design folders and landing pages according to different user groups.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"movefolders\">Move folders<\/h2>\n<p>Move a folder by right-clicking on the folder tile or on the folder name in the menu on the left.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-3.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 3\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hit <em>move<\/em> and choose the new folder location.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-4.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 4\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can drag and drop a folder in place via the folder menu in the menu of the left.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-5.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 5\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This requires that you have set your default sorting settings to \u201ccustom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Go to settings &gt; configuration to ensure the folder sort order is set to custom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-6.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 6\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"deletefolders\">Delete folders<\/h2>\n<p>Delete folders by right-clicking on the folder tile or on the folder name in the menu on the left.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/intro-to-folders-image-7.png\" alt=\"intro to folders image 7\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Folders will be kept in the trash, where you can easily restore files and folders if you accidentally delete them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>That was a basic introduction to folders.<\/p>\n<p>Let us know, how you are getting on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the following, we will look at the basics of folders in Kontainer.
