The links users only see files and data you make available to them.<\/p>\n<p>Typical uses include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B2B Portal<\/li>\n<li>Press Access<\/li>\n<li>Public Image Banks<\/li>\n<li>Brand Portals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The portal links work like any other user in Kontainer, so you can always change permissions and settings.<\/p>\n<p>An added benefit; you can <strong>change the landing page<\/strong> for your portal. See the example below, where one portal has two landing page variations.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press Access (original link)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/styling.kontainer.com\/direct\/kWWMoztEix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/styling.kontainer.com\/direct\/kWWMoztEix<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Press Kit A (folder-specific link)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/styling.kontainer.com\/direct\/kWWMoztEix\/folder\/664629\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/styling.kontainer.com\/direct\/kWWMoztEix\/folder\/664629<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"CreateaPortal\/DirectLinkUser\">Create a Portal\/Direct Link User<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <strong>Access<\/strong> <b>\u2192<\/b><strong> Users <b>\u2192<\/b><\/strong><strong>\u00a0New User<\/strong> (top right corner).<\/p>\n<p>Select the <strong>Direct Link <\/strong>user.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-1.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 1\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Give your user a name and select the relevant settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow users to share access by copying folder URLs<\/li>\n<li>Expiry date?<\/li>\n<li>Language<\/li>\n<li>Set to Active<\/li>\n<li>User can create Share links for files and folders<\/li>\n<li>Show <a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/de\/article\/kontaktbereich-hinzufuegen\/\">Brand Section<\/a> in the folder menu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-2.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Create the user and go on to set access. By default, new users have no access.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"SetPermissions\">Set Permissions<\/h2>\n<p>If you use Groups, you can add the user to one or several groups to set up access.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t use Groups, you will set permissions manually. The types of access you need to consider are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Folder access<\/li>\n<li>Download Options<\/li>\n<li>Field Visibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Folder Access <\/strong>controls which folders your user can view, download, edit or delete files in. Access is inherited into subfolders unless manually broken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Download Options<\/strong> controls the formats your user can download your files.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Field Visibility<\/strong> controls which data\/search filters your user can see (Pro+ feature)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"RetrievethePortalLink\">Retrieve the Portal Link<\/h2>\n<p>There are two ways to retrieve the URL for your Portal.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>From your user list<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-3.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 3\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/li>\n<li>From the user profile<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-4.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 4\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/li>\n<li>When \u2018\u2018Allow users to share access by copying URLs\u2019\u2019 is activated, users can copy the folder URL.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-5.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 5\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"SelectaDifferentLandingPage\/Folder\">Select a Different Landing Page\/Folder<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to a folder and open the info panel (right-hand side).<\/li>\n<li>Open the Direct URL section.<\/li>\n<li>Select it from the drop-down menu (only users with access to the folder will show in the list).<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-6.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 6\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/li>\n<li>From here, you can copy your new link.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kontainer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Public-Portals-image-7.png\" alt=\"Public Portals image 7\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This link exists with the original user link; you can still retrieve it from the user list.<\/p>\n<p>You can create as many of these as you want.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>______<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it, really.<\/p>\n<p>Get in touch if you have any unanswered questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Make portals that log users straight into specific folders or areas of your Kontainer.
